22.30° Dial

16th Harmonic

This is another dial that is used when the astrologer desires greater detail as to when transits, directions, progressions and radical planetary patterns are exact. The zodiac degrees viewed on this 22.30 dial are greatly magnified for a more exact view of tight aspects between cosmic factors.

Many midpoints located on this dial are not the same as those found on the 90 degree dial if you use the same chart for both. It is better, therefore, to check if the midpoints found on this dial actually appear as direct or indirect midpoints on the 360 or 90 degree dials.

This dial is not used for total analysis of the horoscope. It is a secondary tool, best utilized  once the 12 house chart, the 360 degree houses or the 90 degree horoscope has already been researched. The horoscope factors found at the 0 degree axis on this dial appear as conjunctions. However, they are actually configurations derived from 0, 22.30, 45, 90, 135, and 180 degrees. These aspects are commonly called hard aspects and fall in the grouping with conjunction, half-square, semi-square,  sexqui-quatrate, and opposition.

Both Alfred Witte's Hamburg School of astrological thought and Reinhold Ebertin's Cosmobiological school of thought believe that the hard aspects of 0, 22.30, 45, 90, 135 and 180 degrees are better methods of study by the astrologer who wished to reveal the client's life experience.

How do I enter a chart on the 22.30 degree dial?  The easiest way to convert the horoscope. Use the 90 degree dial chart to to transfer the horoscope to the 22.30 dial.

Example:

1) Factors found between 0 degrees and 22.30 degrees on the 90 degree dial  are entered into their actual degree. (Moon 7 degrees Aries = 7 degree on the 22.30 dial)

2) Factors found between 22.31 and 30 degrees, subtract 22.30.  ( Sun a 28 Cancer = 5 degrees 30 on the  22.30 dial)

3) Factors found between 30 degrees 01 and 45 degrees, add 7 degrees 30.  (Mercury 12 degrees Taurus = 19 degrees 30 on the 22.30 dial.)

4) Factors found between 45 degrees and 60 degrees, subtract 15 .  ( Venus at 25 degrees of Taurus = 10 degrees on the 22.30 dial.)

5) Factors found between 60 degrees 01 and 67 degrees 30, add 15. (Mars at 3 degrees of Gemini = 18 degrees on the 22.30 dial.)

6) Factors found between 67 degrees 31 and 90 degrees, subtract 7 degrees 30. ( Jupiter at 11 degrees of Virgo = 3 degrees 30 on the 22.30 dial.)
